Lenses are available in a variety of tints, from dark gray to light brown, and all hues in between.  They protect against 100% of harmful UV rays.  Mirrored lenses block more of the sun’s rays than lenses without a mirror coating.  Polarized lenses are also available.  This type of lens contains a filter that disperses the intense concentration of horizontal light that occurs when the sun is reflected off a flat surface.  This means that light shining on the water’s surface, on snow or on the road is easier to look at through sunglasses with polarized lenses.  You’ll find that colors are more true and vibrant since they’re not washed out by bright glare.  You’ll squint less because you’ll be able to see more clearly.

If you wear corrective lenses, you can have your sunglasses fitted with prescription lenses so you can see clearly while you play.  You won’t have to worry about juggling prescription glasses with standard sunglasses.
